A schedule of guided activities will be posted at the check-in area.

Who: The general public is invited to join local community partners at this first annual event. Partners include: Tuolumne River Trust, City of Modesto, Modesto Area Disc Golfers, Feather-Raft, Stanislaus County Bicycle Club, Fun Sports Bikes, Cost Less Foods, Third Street Underground, Latino Outdoors, Sierra Club Yokuts Group, Dry Creek Trail Riders, Operation 9-2-99, Modesto Shadow Chase Running Club, Gold Rush Adventure Racing, Stanislaus Audubon Society, Teens Run Modesto, Dry Creek Trail Riders and individual volunteers.

When: Saturday, March 17th, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Where: Registration will be at Beard Brook Park on South Morton Blvd between 10th and 11th Street. Off-street parking will be available in Beard Brook Park and the lot will be patrolled by volunteers (see attached map).

Why: Modesto RecFest is being launched with the goal of reintroducing the general public to an area that was previously blighted and neglected but that has been restored, rehabilitated, and is being developed as a community recreation resource. The event is designed to demonstrate the numerous recreational opportunities that currently exist at Gateway and other local parks here in Modesto. Additional information about these and other recreational opportunities will be available to the public at partner-sponsored booths and during guided activities.
