[ARCHIVED] Multi-Agency Collaboration Results in Arrest on Early Morning Crime Spree

Modesto, CA – Officers from Modesto, Oakdale, Ceres, and Stanislaus County law enforcement agencies worked together to capture a group suspected of an armed robbery in Ceres and an armed carjacking in Modesto.

The Modesto incident started just before 6:00 AM on Wednesday morning in the 3000 block of Norfolk Way.  The victim was loading his vehicle with his golf clubs when he was confronted by a subject with a gun.  The suspects took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before fleeing the area in the car they arrived in, as well as the victim’s car.  The victim was shaken up but unharmed.

The stolen vehicle was equipped with an On Star device which led officers to their location in Oakdale.  Some suspects were located immediately near the vehicles.  Others were located hiding in a nearby yard using the Modesto Police Departments unmanned aerial vehicle which allowed officers to capture view of the suspects hiding in a nearby backyard.

One minor was arrested on weapon charges, assault, and carjacking.  Detectives are actively working this case in an attempt to identify the remaining suspects.
