[ARCHIVED] Homeowner Repair Assistance Program and Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee

City of Modesto Homeowner Repair Assistance Program

Leaky roof? Drafty windows? Broken HVAC system? Winter weather brings new urgency to home repair projects that have been needed for years. Thanks to a long-running program from the City of Modesto, making critical health and safety hazard repairs is both easy and cost-effective with the Homeowner Repair Assistance Program.

Whether you own a mobile home, or a single-family dwelling, this program is available for you if you reside in Modesto city limits and are a low-to-moderate income household. The Homeowner Repair Assistance Program offers a grant and loan package that provides financial relief like a 20-year deferred or amortized loan with 20% of total project costs being a forgivable grant after 10 years, and other assistance.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Homeowner Repair Assistance, including eligibility information and perspective from a Modesto homeowner that participated in the program, go to the City of Modesto YouTube page to watch a short video on the Homeowner Repair Assistance Program.

Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee

Not a match for the program but still interested in playing a role. The Housing Rehabilitation and Loan Committee develops the administrative procedures and policies for housing rehabilitation loan funds, makes recommendations on policy issues, and plays a vital role in the process of making each Homeowner Repair Assistance Program participant’s repair project a reality. With meetings only taking place once a month, you can have a major impact in Modesto without a sizable time commitment.

There are currently four vacancies for members and one vacancy for an alternate member on the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee.  The vacant positions are:

  • General Contractor
  • Providers of Services
  • Financial Institutions
  • Citizens at Large

Visit the Housing Rehabilitation Loan Committee webpage to get more information about the committee and to apply for the vacant position today.

Invest in your community and be the voice for change.
