[ARCHIVED] Trash-Formation Contest at Earth Day in the Park Festival

The contest is open to all school age children from public, private and homeschooled organizations that want to create a masterpiece out of recycled materials. Join us in celebrating our 28th Annual Earth Day in the Park Festival and be part of the Art Trash-Formation on display in Graceada Park’s Mancini Bowl.  For additional information contact Vicki Rice at 209-577-5495 or Email.

Categories:
• Grades K-2
• Grades 3-5
• Grades 6-8
• Grades 9-12

Entry Due Date:
Bring your project to be registered for judging on Saturday, April 22nd between 9:00am-10:30am to Graceada Park, Mancini Bowl.  Sorry, no late entries will be accepted

Art Specifications:
• Materials that would have otherwise been trash or recycled (i.e. cardboard, milk cartons, plastic lids, bottle tops, cans)
• Media of choice being sure to convey a 3 R’s message:  Reduce-Reuse-Recycle (i.e. used computer parts, scrap metal, old clothing, aluminum, newspaper, buttons,  egg cartons, cd’s, straws, plastics)

Judging:
All contestants will be judged on the following criteria and must be present to win or send a representative on their behalf.  The winners will be announced at 11:15am on Saturday, April 22nd on the main stage.
• Use of recyclable materials
• Creativity
• Originality
• Composition and Design

Prizes:
Cash prizes, sponsored by Bertolotti Disposal will be awarded in each age group:

1st Place - $50.00 

2nd Place - $35.00 

3rd Place - $25.00
